How to select an Emission Analyzer for use in emission monitoring and control

Industries in India have to comply with the norms set by the State Pollution Control Boards in India and hence a suitable emission analyser is a must for compliance and to keep polluting gases under check.

Analyzers for use in emission control are of identical design to those used in other areas of process analysis. They must, however, meet particular requirements for use in emission monitoring applications.

The high number of components which may be present in the exhaust gases requires selective analyzers whose cross sensitivity is either very low or well known and thus can be taken into account by calculations. Furthermore, the analyzers must be easy to calibrate and deliver correct and reproducible results. High availability and low maintenance requirements are also equally important.
Emission monitoring measurements require also well designed sample gas extracting and conditioning systems because of the high temperatures as well as dust and water content of the flue gases. Gas sampling must deliver a representative proportion of the flue gas stream which sometimes requires more than one sampling point.

Testo 350 Emission Analyzer is the most suitable 6-sensor flue gas analyzer for emission monitoring. You can analyze upto 6 gases from O2, CO, No, NO2, CO2, SO2, H2S, HC. It has a special hose for special SOx and NOx measurement. It also features peltier cooled gas preparation system. It has easy to replace sensors. It has as much as 5 times range extension on all its gas sensors.

IR thermometer or thermal imager?

Thermal imager or infrared thermometer – when is which worthwhile?

Application
Servicing electrical systems
Servicing electrical systems
If you only take one-point temperature measurements on clearly delineated areas larger than 2.4 mm, the use of the infrared thermometer testo 835-T2 or T-1 is recommended. With the help of an external probe, both are automatically able to determine the emissivity
of measurement objects. In addition to this, testo 835-T2 can measure temperatures
up to 1500 °C.
If you need to visualize temperature developments,
exactly locate very small overheated contacts, and at the same time present an
overview of measurement objects, then you can rely on the thermal imager testo 875-2i.
Monitoring mechanical loads
Monitoring mechanical loads
With the help of an external probe, the infrared thermometers testo 835-T1 and testo 835-T2 are able to automatically determine the emissivity of measurement
objects. This ensures more precise measurement results, especially when
monitoring moving components in plants.
testo 835-T2 can measure temperatures up to 1500 °C over testo 835-T1
If you need exact information on larger
measurement objects, or if you do not know beforehand where exactly in a system mechanical loads can reach a critical stage, then choose the handy thermal imager testo 870 whose functions were specially developed for use in industrial maintenance.
Measuring high temperature
Measuring high temperature
Do you need to measure temperatures up to 1500 °C reliably and from a safe
distance? Then you need the infrared thermometer testo 835-T2, specially developed
for these requirements.
Your plant only ever heats up to max. 1200°C, but measurements can only be taken from a greater distance? Then rely on the
thermal imager testo 885 with exchangeable
lenses (optional): Standard lens for an overview,
and telephoto lens for precise distance measurements.
Ensuring diecasting quality
Ensuring diecasting quality
With the infrared thermometers testo 835-T1 and testo 835-T2, you can take spot temperature measurements on large diecast parts (e.g. in the automotive industry), gaining valuable insights
into the correct temperature distribution of diecasting moulds. testo 835-T2 differs
from testo 835-T1 as it can measure temperatures up to 1500 °C.
If you wish to test the temperature distribution
over the entire diecast part, you have a choice between the thermal imagers testo
885 and testo 875i. The model testo 885, however, has a larger detector and a better thermal sensitivity. For a more exact testing
of anomalies, a follow-up spot measurement with the infrared thermometers testo 835-T1 or testo 835-T2 is recommended.
Testing compressors
Testing compressors
Clearly delineated, larger measurement spots on compressors (5 – 10 cm in diameter, depending on the measurement distance) can be precisely tested even
from a distance with the two infrared thermometers testo 835-T2 and testo 835-T1.
If spot measurements are not sufficient,
or if you wish to have an overview of the complete temperature distribution of a compressor– for example in order to be able to monitor critical components more closely – you should choose the thermal imager testo
870. Thanks to the IR Soft software included in delivery, you can also easily document all measurements carried out with the imager.

COMBUSTION IN A DIESEL ENGINE

t350-MARITIME-Flue-Gas-Analyser-details-2_pdprPROCESS: Fuel (diesel) and air are mixed and burnt inside a diesel engine. The resulting energy is then converted into mechanical energy. For any type of combustion it is important to mix fuel and air in the correct ratio. Adequate air will ensure complete combustion of the diesel, and this will provide optimum amount of heat energy. Providing less than adequate air would mean, starving the fuel of proper air (oxygen) thus resulting into incomplete burning of diesel, and also production of CO, or carbon monoxide.

A diesel engine also has a working point. Working point of an engine is the point at which the engine is most stable, and works at optimum efficiency. At this point, the NOx emissions are minimum. In an engine, as the wear and tear increases, the NOx emission levels also increase. Monitoring the NOx emissions gives an indication of wear and tear on the engine.

MEASUREMENT: measuring O2 & CO, to know whether combustion is efficient, and measuring NO & NO2, to know the wear and tear on the engine.

SOLUTION: the most ideal solution for this measurement is the testo 340, with 4 sensors, O2, CO, NO, and NO2, and a 335 mm engine probe, with sintered filter, and an operating temperature of max 1000 deg C.

Vane Aneometer India

What is Vane Aneometer?

One of the vital instrumentsto measure mechanical velocity is Vane Aneometer. It is similar to a windmill, except for its axis remaining parallel to that of the direction of the wind. Thus, with changing direction, you can measure the flow of the wind. It consists of propeller and tail with gives accurate measurements.

What are aneometers used for?

There are various uses of having a VaneAneometer, the main being measuring wind flow and its intensity. Other than this, it is used to give results for total velocity magnitude. This velocity magnitude can be on a horizontal place or the vertical plane as per the requirement.

In what industry it is used?

This type of thermometer is rarely used. Here the cup in mounted with the shaft and it is placed perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This gives it the freedom of measuring only those winds which are parallel to the ground. Before you are using this instrument, make sure to determine its position so that you get correct measurements.

Which is the best place to buy it?

You can get some of the top rated anemometers online and that too at exciting prices. They sell at whole sale rates with free guaranteed shipping. If you wish to buy from markets, you can do that to buy be prepared to give extra bucks as they rarely have discounts on such instruments.
